The Hometown Bluegrass Show is hosted by Tim Batts who plays and sings in the western Kentucky bluegrass band, Homemade Jam. Tim brings a passion and a light to the music that will make you want to fall in love with this heart-felt music. Produced right here in western Kentucky where the heart of this great music was founded, this one-hour program showcases new releases on various labels and highlights the finest bluegrass and old-time music by today's artists and yesterday’s favorites!

Homemade Jam Bluegrass Band is based in far Western KY. All members are from either Ballard or McCracken County. HMJ was formed in 2010 and loves to entertain audiences with their unique brand of bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, classic country and humor. HMJ has played many different events through the years including: churches, festivals, municipal events, and private events. HMJ completed their first studio project, There is a Time, in January of 2023. They play bluegrass, gospel and older country with all acoustic instruments. about tim
Tim grew up singing in church with his family and played the trumpet in Middle and High School. He always had a love for music but stopped playing and singing until he was in his late 30’s. He then decided he would take it up again after falling in love with bluegrass music! He helped form Homemade Jam Bluegrass Band in 2010 and since then his passion for performing and producing music has led him to perform with his band, play some solo gigs as well as host a bluegrass music radio show on the Paducah, Kentucky based classic country station WLLE 102.1 FM and a nationwide podcast with the same name on Apple Podcast and Spotify. Tim is also the President for The Jackson Purchase Friends of Bluegrass. They help promote bluegrass music in Western KY and the KY Lakes area.
